What Are High Vibrational Crystals?

high vibrational crystals WHAT ARE HIGH VIBRATIONAL CRYSTALS?

High vibrational crystals are crystals that work on the spiritual and energetic body. They carry a much higher vibrational energy which allows them to cleanse and integrate your subtle energy bodies. Generic crystals are more effective at working on the physical, mental and emotional bodies. They certainly have their place, but when you've been working with crystals for some time and want to step it up with your healing, selecting a high vibration crystal may be what you need. In fact you may have some of them in your collection already without even knowing it! Many of them are newly discovered crystals but some have been around for a very long time.

Some high vibrational crystals include: (Please remember that this is not a complete list of high vibrational crystals!)

  • Vera Cruz Amethyst
  • Spirit Quartz (all varieties)
  • Ajo Blue Calcite
  • Rose Quartz
  • Celestite
  • Blue Selenite & Fishtail Selenite
  • Moldavite
  • Kunzite
  • Brandberg Amethyst
  • Elestial Quartz
  • Danburite
  • Auralite 23 (exceptionally high vibration)
  • Herkimer Diamond
  • Super Seven
  • Apophyllite Pyramid

HOW TO WORK WITH HIGH VIBRATIONAL CRYSTALS

To use these stones, your own vibratory rate has to be in harmony. If your vibration doesn't align with the that of the crystal, it is not meant to work with you at this time. You'll also need to select the right crystal for your intended purpose such as a Spirit Quartz which is useful to induce deep trance-like states to help pinpoint significant karmic connections in your etheric blueprint. A crystal book/directory is useful for this task. You can have a look in our online store for beautiful quality pieces or browse your local gem shop.

First, cleanse your crystal upon receiving it and then hold it in your hands with your intentions clear and dedicate it to the highest good. Let your vibrations align with that of the crystal. If the crystal feels dead and lifeless to you (a seasoned "crystal worker" will understand this) then you know it's not the time to work with this particular stone.

If you've been working with crystals for a long time, or are very sensitive to their vibrations, then you will know when you're holding a high vibrational crystal. The frequency they emit is unreal, and I for one love working with them. Working at these higher levels require these crystals to be cleansed often, and try not to "share" them with others. Enjoy the healing powers these gifts from Mother Earth bear and have fun!

Crystals For Pregnancy + Birth

There's nothing comparable to the 9 or so months a little being and soul is within your womb, and the connection you have as you foster it's growth and development ready for the day or night they are meant to arrive earth side. It's special and bonding, it's surreal, scary and exciting. All at once. It's beautiful. And there are ways to connect more with your baby during pregnancy than you might realise. Ways that might help you prepare, bond more, or even learn more about the life purpose and teachings of your new baby. You can meditate, converse with your Guides, use oracle and tarot cards... and of course use crystals.

Today I wanted to share with you which crystals I recommend for pregnancy and childbirth and how I've personally been incorporating them into my life this pregnancy.

My favourite stone for pregnancy is Unakite. It's a form of Jasper which is a very common crystal used for pregnancy. Unakite is useful for both pregnancy and labour. During pregnancy Unakite is good for connecting with your baby spiritually as this crystal goes beyond the physical plane and works at a spiritual level to connect and understand. I really gravitated towards this in the early pregancy days. It's also good for promoting a healthy pregnancy for both mother and fetus. Unakite helps the transition in labour and keeps you calm and centred. It's good for the reproductive system in general.

Rose Quartz is all about love, unconditional love, acceptance, and it has a beautiful soft motherly energy. Place a piece of rose quartz on your belly to foster the loving bond between you and bub. Rose quartz is also good for post natal depression when worn consistently (think a pendant or bracelet). Take a piece of rose quartz to the hospital (or wherever you're birthing) to keep by the baby after birth as it has very soothing and loving energy. It's great for healing both mother and newborn baby.

The most well known pregnancy stone is Jasper. As mentioned above with Unakite, there are many forms of Jasper. It has a strong connection to Mother Earth which also resonates with a new mother or mother-to-be. It's a strong spiritual and grounding stone and easily obtainable. Jasper is also believed to help the fetus grow strong and to offer great support for a healthy pregnancy.  The best type of Jasper for pregnancy is any really, but Ocean Wave Jasper is especially useful - it supports pregnancy and childbirth, breast feeding, infant protection and care taking.  Meditating with ocean wave jasper facilitates honouring gestation, birth and new lives. It helps emotionally new mothers and mothers-to-be. Physically, ocean wave jasper is ideal for treating morning sickness.

Lapis Lazuli is a fantastic crystals to use specifically for labour pain. To use it, tape it over the site of pain. Lapis Lazuli is also believed to prevent miscarriages and generally improve pregnancy. It's a common and easily available crystal so it's definitely one to add to your kit!

Jade is good for boosting milk supply. I had an oversupply and fast let down last time so will likely have it again, which means I'll be avoiding Jade! If you have a low supply, try wearing Jade as a pendant consistently to help increase your supply. Jade is also believed to help increase fertility.

Hematite is useful for fatigue in pregnancy. It's a very grounding stone but shouldn't be worn and used continuously. I've spent many times holding Hematite in my fists, grounding myself in the backyard during this pregnancy.

For those who suffer with nausea or morning sickness there are crystals that can help! Red Aventurine and Brown Agate are among a few crystals that help fight nausea. Jasper (again) can be useful too (see above). Place them over your sacral chakra for 20-30 mins at a time.

And lastly how could I leave out the delicious Moonstone. With such a gentle mothering lunar energy, it's a useful and I often  recommended this crystal for fertility issues. But it's also useful for pregnancy and as a new mother. Moonstone is very healing for a pregnant woman, and can aid contractions and milk supply.

Using Crystals For Anxiety

med2 002

Anxiety is thankfully becoming less of a taboo topic these days. I suffered with anxiety for many years of my life and still have the occasional day where I feel my nervous energy levels rising. I always reach for my crystals (and the Rescue Remedy!) when I need to sooth my anxious energy. Crystals are a wonderful tool for working on anxiety. The convenience of tumbled stones means you can carry your chosen crystal with you all day in your pocket, or even in your hands. While it's working away on your energy and vibrations, holding it in your hands is also a physical reminder to stop, breathe and to remember you are supported.

Alternatively, wearing crystals in the form of jewellery is another way to incorporate them into your daily life. Pendants, bracelets and even rings not only look beautiful but they are on your body all day, able to work with you to help reduce your anxiety. I often have jewellery listed in my crystal store.

Sleeping with the suggested crystals below is another great idea, especially if your anxiety interfere with your sleep patterns. Pop them under your pillow or on your bed head (or bedside). While there are many healing and calming crystals available, the small list below is what I have found to be most helpful and is also based on feedback from friends and customers who have used crystals for anxiety.

WHITE HOWLITE is one of my favourite stones for anxiety. For some reason, howlite doesn't seem to be a commonly recommended crystal for anxiety but it's well known to reduce anxiety and anger levels along with insomnia. It's great to use for a mind that's racing, especially at bed time.

While blue howlite is dyed, it is still very useful for anxiety - blue is a calming and soothing colour and when mixed with the natural properties of Howlite you have yourself a potent calming stone. The first stone my daughter Olivia ever picked was a tumbled blue howlite, and she held it to fall asleep for over a year. Now she knows to hold it when she is feeling over whelmed and anxious (she is only 3!). Try holding a piece of howlite to your third eye to gain a sense of calm.

BLUE CALCITE is a very calming crystal. it's vibrations and smooth and light, yet powerful in healing. It soothes nervous energy, lessens anxiety and reduces any stress and tension in the body.

TURQUOISE is another popular crystal for anxiety. Real turquoise is getting more expensive but it's definitely still available. I've sold it a few times through the store and try to make people aware of the dyed howlite that's often sold as turquoise. While dyed howlite is great (as mentioned above), if you're after the specific properties and vibrations of turquoise, please ensure it's the real deal!

BLACK TOURMALINE is often used for protecting your energy field against negative vibrations, and for drawing negative energies away from a person. Therefore, it can have a calming effect on you, grounding any flighty or scattered energies into the earth. Sit with a large chunk of it in your hands and visualise it absorbing your negative and anxious energy.

7 Ways to Use Crystals

Today I've compiled a list of 7 ways to use crystals in your everyday life. There's many more ways to incorporate them in your life but these are some common and easy ones, and also the way I personally use them.

IN YOUR CAR

I have a Tiger's Eye in my car, which is very protective as a travelling stone. If you have road rage tendencies you could keep a moonstone, carnelian or amethyst in your glove box or hanging from your mirror.

TO MEDITATE WITH

Some people like to use crystals and stones to assist in obtaining a deep meditative state. Purple stones are great for tapping into your higher consciousness during meditation. Selenite is one of my favourites to meditate with as is clear quartz. I tend to hold them in my hand, but you can also use them on your chakras or even use them as a visual meditation.

WEAR AS JEWELLERY

The most common way of wearing them is as a ring but a lot of people don't even think about the type of crystal when they are looking at them in the shops! I like to wear my crystals as a necklace. A great way of doing this is in a pouch. This is because most pouches are inter-changeable and you can slip in the stone of your choice for the day.

CARRYING WITH YOU

Put a crystal in your pocket as you go about your day. Having certain crystals on you throughout your daily travels can be helpful in all types of situations. The crystal will amplify and intensify your energies that it resonates with. It's also handy for when you need some help calming down, or gaining confidence etc as you can just reach into your pocket and hold it.

FOR LOVE

Pink crystals are the stones of love. If you're single, use rose quartz on your bedsides and have it on you when on a date. If you're in a relationship, garnet is a fantastic to ignite passion, if you know what I mean. I keep a garnet under our mattress or on our bed head! Oh yeah ;)

IN YOUR PURSE

I always keep a citrine piece in my purse. Citrine is "my stone", which means I have been drawn to it from the time I started looking at crystals. It's always popping up in my life and I feel really strong energy from citrine. It's known as the merchant's stone of wealth because it promotes success, prosperity and abundance.  But most of all, it promotes success in business and money involved situations. I keep it in my wallet for good cash flow. I also hold it in my hand when I buy a lottery ticket. Other good ones for your purse are pyrite (also known as fool's gold) and green aventurine.

TO LOOK AT

Crystals are pretty! Put them on display around your home and just enjoy the colours they add to your room.

How to Recharge Your Amber Teething Necklace

recharge-amber

*This post has been updated June 2015*

I want to talk about the old faithful Baltic amber teething necklace. Almost every baby or child I come across has one around its neck or even as a bracelet or anklet. Olivia has had one since she was about a month old and I love to give them to friends as baby shower gifts.

But... how do they work? Lets look at what Amber is.

Amber is technically not a crystal. It doesn't actually have a crystalline structure because it's a resin. Amber is resin from pine trees in Columbia. To be considered true Amber it must completely fossilise over a process of 100,000 years! Since most of the Amber on the market today is less than 1,000 years old (and hasn't fossilised), it's actually Copal. So that's more than likely what we are putting around our babies necks. Don't worry - copal will eventually become Amber as it ages and has a similar vibration and effect so it's definitely still worthwhile using.

The idea is, Amber contains succinic acid, which is a natural analgesic and healing agent. As it warms against your body, the succinic acid will be absorbed through your skin helping with pain relief of teething, arthritis and more. It was used by Native Americans and Eastern Indians on their breastplates, and was considered a very grounding stone that was capable of healing powerfully yet gently, and was able to draw out negative energy of all kinds. Of course this also meant negative physical energy, such as teething pain. It also aids in emotional healing and depression and is a popular stone for adults too.

One of the most unique things about Amber is it doesn't need to be cleansed, energetically speaking. But it's still a great idea to charge your Amber necklaces. Amber, being a golden crystal, works with the energy of the sun. I've heard that to get the most of your Amber you should put it in the sun so that it's analgesic affect is more potent... but research has shown that the highest levels of succinic acid is in the cortex, which is the outer layer of the "crystal". So it wouldn't really bring more to the surface than whats already there.

But it is still useful to put your Amber in the sun for an energetic cleanse. The sun is a potent and common way to charge many crystals and it's really simple to do:

  1. Give your crystal a wash. Use tap water, or natural source water, such as a river or rainwater. Wash away any physical build up, and also energetically wash away any negative energy that it has accumulated. Visualisations and affirmations are very powerful during this process
  2. Place it in the sun, somewhere safe. Let the necklace soak up the rays for a few hours, and of course it will also dry. Let the sun do it's thing... go make yourself a cup of tea and collect it at sundown
  3. Place it back on your bub and give thanks to the power of the earth and sun

I've heard people say they noticed their babies' necklace was physically heavy after a teething episode or a prolonged time of wear. Other people have said the beads get cloudy. These are all good signs that it's time to wash and charge the necklace.

If your little one is old enough, get them involved. Take a bowl of salt water outside get them to give their necklace a wash and enjoy the process.

If you have friends and family who use Amber teething necklaces, share this post with them to help them get the most out of their beads.
